Our team includes medical practitioners, clinic assistants, medical assistants, administrative staff, community health educators, and volunteer health educators. Our work is enhanced by the contributions of volunteers who are trained in a variety of clinic tasks and provide over 2,500 hours of service each year.
Alissa Light has served as the Executive Director of Family Tree Clinic since 2010. During her tenure Alissa has helped to lead the 47 year old organization’s transformation from a St. Paul family planning clinic, to a regional leader in LGBTQ health, evidence-based comprehensive sex education, and culturally responsive care.
Alissa holds a Bachelors Degree in Communications and Women’s & Gender Studies from Macalester College, and is pursuing her Masters in Organizational Leadership from Quinnipiac University.
In addition to her role at Family Tree, Alissa also serves as the Board President of the Reproductive Health Alliance, the only advocacy coalition of reproductive and sexual health providers in the state, representing 16 reproductive health organizations serving over 300,000 people across Minnesota.
Alissa has two ridiculously curious and fierce kids, enjoys riding bikes, growing vegetables, and once was told she was the doppelganger to Laura Dern in Jurassic Park
Associate Executive Director
Nathalie Crowley assists all Family Tree Clinic patients in gaining access to legal, social, health, and wellness resources.
Using her more than ten years of experience working in healthcare and over 25 years working with the LGBTQ movement, Nathalie has also provided training and education to medical providers, mental health providers, and other professionals concerning Trans and LGBTQ issues with an emphasis on providing accessible wellness care to Trans individuals in rural areas.
Nathalie has received multiple awards and honors for her work with rural Trans communities, sexual and domestic assault, and formerly served on the City of Minneapolis Trans Equity Council.
Health Education Director
Lindsey Hoskins is a deeply committed sex nerd who graduated from the University of MN with a degree in sex education.
She dove into this work in 1999 and fell in love with helping folks get comfy and start talking about topics that can often be challenging. Lindsey joined Family Tree is 2002 and is now the Director of Health Education.
Lindsey is most proud of the sex ed programming she runs in juvenile corrections, the peer sex educator program she started for queer and trans teens, and her work with parents of young children. Lindsey is happiest when teaching puberty, and don’t even get her started on lube.
In 2017, her book, Principles of Pleasure: Working with the Good Stuff as Sex Therapists and Educators
, was released. Her mother is very proud.
Jennifer Demma, MSN, APRN-CNM
Jennifer Demma has been a midwife since 2000 and has worked in a variety of hospital and community-based practices in the Twin Cities.
She is committed to partnering with clients to provide individualized, holistic, compassionate health care and is thrilled to be part of the amazing team at Family Tree.
Jennifer has a strong interest in education and has been a faculty member at Metropolitan State University, MN State Mankato, and Georgetown University.
When not working, Jennifer enjoys walking around the lakes with friends and anything related to the local arts scene.

Director of Community Engagement
Jacki Trelawny believes sex-positive sex education and health access resources will save the world.
Focusing on racial justice and community organizing, Jacki is passionate about intersectional sexual health and sees it as a way to make not only individuals healthier and confident, but whole communities as well.
The work of Community Engagement supports and holds Family Tree accountable to its vision of eliminating health disparities.
She believes in people; the community knows what they need. Jacki holds a Bachelors Degree in Africana and African American Studies from the University of Minnesota.
When Jacki is not at work she is off being a superhero or hanging at the dog park without a dog.
Finance and Human Resources Director
Deborah Angelucci has more than 25 years of experience working in fundraising, finance, human resources, and administration in small- to mid-sized nonprofits in the Twin Cities.
Her previous work experience includes Tree Trust, Hallie Q. Brown Community Center, Rural AIDS Action Network, and what was then Face to Face Health & Counseling Service (now Face to Face).
Prior to that, she worked as a fundraising consultant for what was then Crowley, White & Associates – now Crowley, White, Helmer & Sevig.
Deborah has a BA in Communications from Muhlenberg College in Allentown PA, and in her free time enjoys traveling with her spouse.
Director of Advancement
Debra deNoyelles thinks we all deserve to live in a just and equitable world, one where the logic models fit on one page and the gen op is free-flowing. Debra is a strategic thinker, tenacious resource gatherer and unabashed believer in the power of collective community. She holds a BFA and MA in Art History from the University of Kansas, and has 18 years of experience building relationships and resources for nonprofits in Minnesota. Debra joined the staff of Family Tree in winter 2020.
She serves on the Board of Directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals – MN Chapter and on the Advisory Board at Soo Visual Art Center. Debra is an enthusiastic amplifier who loves using social media for good. When she’s not posting, she spends time with her beloved friends and family, and her small smelly dog Emmet.
